I waited until 2 weeks until my travel date to email my Senators office and was told that the agency would only pull requests that were 1 week from travel and got nervous. Calling the 877 and I never got through, so I just hoped my rep’s office would come through. In the end I think it helped get it done in time for my travel date 5/20.

I would recommend choosing expedited from the start if you are traveling anytime on the next many months. Had tried to add it and they never charged credit card. I did reach up to our local congressional office and he did inquire for us. We are still waiting for out other sons that went in process in March 3rd. This coming Sunday will be 2 weeks until our trip so going to ask him to really try to put pressure to get my other sons application moving.

Submitted paperwork at our local acceptance center on 2/10. We did not select expedited service nor did we select Fedex overnight It was updated to “In Process” on 2/15. 11 1/2 weeks later, on 5/8, the status changed to “approved” and we received the passport in the mail on 5/8. We never received an email on status changes.
