Showed in process on 01/25/2023 (was told to expect 2 weeks before I’d be in process)
Approved and shipped 02/28/2023 (showed “shipped” with the following day stating “approved”)
Came in the mail 03/03/2023 (I fly out for my vacation in April)
*Nothing was expedited (processed from Detroit embassy and actual passport shipped up from Arkansas). Online it showed 6-9 weeks then 8-11 weeks for processing times, it took 5 weeks 2 days for myself.

The routine timeline when I applied was 6 to 9 weeks and I received it in the 9th week after I emailed, called, and finally requested help from my Congressman. I am not sure when I would have received it if I hadn’t done all that. Also, I purchased overnight shipping.
I did routine processing in Dec since I thought that would be more than enough time for me before I left the country. But I was sweating it out. Probably, should have expediated and I would recommend everyone doing that with the huge backlog they have with people planning spring and summer travel. Sorry that is the case but it is.
Also, I don’t think they have all the bugs out of the online system so I would not recommend that until the general release to all. One person I called told me that it was ‘under review’ but he didn’t see anything wrong with it. I think it got stuck in the system somewhere and was in limbo. He has to nudge the processing center to get it done.

My passport was stolen in Madrid last summer. I received a temporary passport for my return trip from the embassy and applied for a replacement on my return in August. I have now been waiting over 6 months. The online tracker only says “in process” I find no way to email. Phone number provided on the website sends you to a long wait time. I have now been waiting for a representative for over 3 hours. The option to leave a call back number doesn’t work. Very unhappy with the state department.

Got in contact with my senator 3/3 as still no change and found that there are major issues and errors with online applications and that’s why they’ve closed them again. They are not notifying anyone as to these errors or when they are actually planning on sending out the completed passports. Family members applied by mail 4 weeks after me and received theirs 2 weeks later.

I applied online with regular processing because the website gave a window of 6-9 weeks. I spoke with someone because my travel is under two weeks away and they told me it has to be 5 days away. At that time I can make an appointment. Now I am under 5 days but, I can’t get through to make an appointment. I wish they would have let me make an appointment at two weeks out.
