5/11 – inside two weeks, called national passport center to pay for overnight shipping and notify of pending travel is inside 2 weeks but I’m told that 25-11 isn’t 14 it’s 15 by the way they count, call back tomorrow….after waiting 2.5hrs on hold
5/12 – called at 8a eastern and they talked to me…paid for overnight shipping and notified of pending travel in less than two weeks
5/15 – contacted my congressman and senator’s office
5/17 – approved and shipped
5/18 – received
Awful experience all around. Houston office was very slow…we sent my daughters at same time and hers went to national center (69) without expedite or any other escalations because she’s not traveling…ironically got it back two days before my sons finally arrived.

The passport status is accurate for arrival. It was many weeks for processing. Once approved, the website does not provide good updates on delivery. I would suggest requesting USPS text messages. There are a lot of scary stories of delays on the web. Our passport arrived in the 7th week of quoted 7-9 weeks. Now we can breath a sigh of relief before our international travels this summer.
