June 1 – submitted expedited renewal application at in person passport agency with old passports for twins
June 9 – Cashed Check and application marked as “In Progress” at locator 45. Said expected turnaround of 7-9 weeks for expedited applications. Locator 45.
June 16, 2023 – Emailed Senator Schumer office for help and completed privacy forms, since DOT – 07/22/2023. Very quick response and call received from his office.
July 10, 2023 – called NPIC – main number- status changed to Urgent travel. They said they would not allow me to make appt until July 17, 2023 which 5 days prior to travel.
July 11, 2023 – called NPIC main number – they said they will note that I called again, but would not allow me to make an appt.
July 11 (Tuesday) – I checked online and noticed that my application status is still in process.
Note: I subscribed to email updates but I did not receive any emails.
Very stressed. We are hoping for a miracle and considering a passport expeditor but this is for twins, so would be $2K no guarantee.
Appreciate all those who are posting updates.
July 12 – called locator 45 and spoke with a rep who marked our application urgent and emailed Schumer’s case worker
July 13 – called locator 45 again and spoke with a rep, said still processing. Senator Schumer’s caseworker emailed back promptly that she sent an email follow up for both which we greatly appreciated.
Update:07/13/2023 06:01 pm.
I just checked passport status.gov and both the twins passport are marked as approved. We had paid for expedited delivery, so hopefully we receive passports next week since DOT is 07/22/2023.

Update: 07/13/2023 – passports approved on status.gov website.
Passports received for both twins 07/15/2023 @ 5 pm via expedited delivery which we had prepaid for.
