We applied routine processing initially because we never thought of traveling anytime soon. But three weeks later, something came up about my daughter’s petition that the NVC expedited the case and is ready to schedule an interview and medical at the Embassy in Manila. So, out of excitement we book the flight and all the necessary schedules for interview. I was so stressed of how are we gonna get our passport before our DOT. My friend told me to ask help from our Congressman on top of calling the 877 to expedite our application. July 11, i gave my cc info for expedited processing and shipping. Days later nothing happened, still in process. I was so desperate I even asked help from the Senator on the 20th. Came 21st of July morning, i saw cc charges from the state for the expedited. And email sent from the assistant of the Congressman that they reached out to the agency and our application was under review. Came midnight i checked my status and it says “shipped”. July 24th 11am we received all our passport!
Tomorrow we’re heading to the airport for our long journey back home. After 3.5 years i am looking forward to see my family back home again! Thanks for all the help from our Congressman and ideas from this group .

5/1 my passport was received by locator 57. I got nervous from all the horror stories so I upgraded to expedite and 1-2 day shipping on 7/12. My cc was charged on 7/20 for 1-2 day shipping but not expedited. 7/24 my passport was shipped. My DOT isn’t until next month so I would’ve been fine without the 1-2 day shipping. Don’t listen to all the horror stories.

I got my passport photo done at Walgreens–fast, easy and accepted by government.
