Expedited Adult Passport renewal. Sent via USPS Express Mail, requested Express Mail return shipping.
Mailed via USPS Express Mail on June 5, 2023. USPS tracking showed delivered June 6, 2023. US Dept of State tracking website updated with a received date of June 8, 2023. Signed up for email updates. Locator number began with 50 which should be the Los Angeles passport agency.
Checked the website for a status update every couple days after 5 weeks – noticed the status changed to shipped on July 28th. Tracking number provided on the website. Never received email at any point in the process (checked junk email folders too – nothing there).
USPS Tracking showed package left from Tucson, AZ on July 31 (which I am not sure is standard since my locator indicated the Los Angeles Passport Agency). Passport arrived on 8/1, original docs to be returned later.
Overall the process was finished in just over 7 weeks from the date the state department received everything, which was at the early end of the expedited estimate of 7-9 weeks. Average stress level experience.

I applied for my 2 boys with full custody. I did the translation by myself because it’s from my original country and because for each page they charge you around $50 per page, I didn’t need a certified translator I just had it notarized. I also translated their Birth Certificates.

Called on Thursday 07/27 because I didn’t see any changes, soooo they gave me the good news that they were printing their passports.
On Friday 07/28 I checked their status and they got APPROVED .
On Monday 07/31 ***PASSPORTS ON HAND THANK GOD***
