6/7/2023 – Email received at 1:04am stating “Application Status: Approved” and “You should receive your passport book on or around 06/13/2023”
6/7/2023 – 2nd email received at 1:04am stating “Application Status: Shipped” with Priority Mail tracking number
6/8/2023 – Email received at 1:08pm stating “Application Status: Approved” and “You should receive your passport book on or around 06/17/2023”
6/9/2023 – Passport arrived 11 weeks and 1 day after submission, 78 days
I live near Santa Fe, NM and the app went to El Paso, TX, but it was printed and mailed from Hot Springs National Park in Arkansas. Overall there’s no stress since there was no planned travel, but it just took a long time, though within promised timeframe.

I sent my passport from PA but went to VT center for some reason. I signed up for notifications but never received them. I checked everyday and it said shipped with a tracking number but now says approved so it was swapped for some reason. I was nervous because I have international travel planned the week of 7/4. I dragged my feet getting my application sent and finding a place to get my photo taken. I went to Walmart and its super cheap, like $5! Looks like it took the average time this website calculated which is great! I would’ve reached out to senator if it cut any closer. Took about 8 weeks then which is less than the routine service 10-13 weeks. I still advise not to slack and just get it out of the way. Mine expired years ago but I wanted to wait until I needed it again.

Passport remained “in process” until I had my senator’s office put in an inquiry. Was bot able to reach any live voice at the passport agency. When I called the direct number for the New Orleans passport agency (locator 42) I got a live person who shipped my passport the next day (2 weeks before DOT).

Took about 14 weeks. Should’ve been 8-11weeks. Tried calling the passport number several times. That’s was a joke. Filled out report with my US representative office 2 weeks before travel. Options given were drive to Tucson and pay expedited fees or just wait. They weren’t much help.Next day status was showing “shipped” on the tracker. Received it June 10th. I don’t think my report made a difference since I barely emailed it before closing of the office. I would suggest expediting it. It took over 14 weeks for ours. Almost missed out on a trip.
